From the right, the 1st panel shows the Asian continent with China at the center surrounded by Korea, Japan, and other countries; the 2nd, the Korean peninsula; the 3rd through the 10th, the eight provinces of Korea; the 11th, the archipelago of Japan; the 12th, the Ryukyu Islands.

Originally folded, hand-painted travel maps used by high government officials, all twelve maps provide in great detail much information on the population, military outposts and number of soldiers and strategic road communications. This well-preserved set of maps is an important document for Korean military, economic and topographical history, as well as for Korea's relationship with China, Japan and the Ryukyus in the 19th century.
