Gibbon") to "Sir" (an unnamed recipient), Bereton, 20 July 1769, one page, 4to, 2 small marginal tears repaired, tipped to larger sheet, with typed transcript. "In consequence of a letter I received last night from Mr Lockwood, I wrote to Mr Eliot, who, I make no doubt will be ready to receive you. He lives in New Street, Spring Gardens. -- One of the Executors of Mr Joseph Taylor is Mr Williamson his Nephew of Smith Street Westminster...". From the collection of F.L. Pleadwell with small stamp on verso; Autograph endorsement (4 lines) signed ("E Gibbon") on a detailed bill for #114.1.1 for furniture made out to him in French, Lausanne, 1 July 1786, one page, folio, tipped to larger sheet, central, horizontal fold: "Bon pour le montant sur sa quittance generale..."
