A PAIR OF LACQUER STANDS FOR FOOD (TAKATSUKI)

Constructed of a shallow, circular tray set on a slender, cylindrical stem ending at a splayed foot, each identically decorated overall in gold hiramaki-e with accents of aogai, okibirame, nashiji, hirame, roiro, silver lacquer and gold foil with open and closed illustrated libretti of No plays, some with title cartouches reading Arashiyama, Takasago, Ataka, Aridoshi, Ashikari, Shakkyo and Shiokumi, on a roiro-nuri and hirame ground
