LEWIS, WYNDHAM. Timon of Athens. [London: Cube Press 1913]. Folio, original cream pictorial wrappers with designs by Lewis printed in black on both covers, brown cloth ties, spine slightly rubbed and darkened, blank leaf not present, half morocco folding case. FIRST EDITION of Lewis' first book, a portfolio of unbound leaves reproducing Vorticist drawings by Lewis (10 black-and-white and 6 in color) depicting various scenes from Shakespeare's Timon of Athens as well as unrelated abstract designs. Morrow & Lafourcade Al ("Timon of Athens was the only publication of the Cube Press, which seems to have been a fictious name chosen by Lewis himself under which the portfolio was published"). A very good copy of this work marking the emergence of the Vorticist movement.
