(9 3/4 x 8 3/8 x 1 1/2in.), on guards, red morocco, rounded bevelled sides, the covers blind ruled with a large panel of lattice, each filled with a single repeated stylized leaf tool in gilt, spine in six compartments with five raised bands, gilt lettered in two compartments, blind lattice and gilt leaf in the rest; board edges and turn-ins gilt, doublures and free endpages of green watered silk, g.e., the binding unsigned, corners with very slight wear, upper joint with superficial split at top, some color loss to spine, sandgrain cloth slipcase (repaired). THOMAS WESTWOOD'S COPY WITH HIS BOOKPLATE AND STENCILLED MONOGRAM, EXTRA ILLUSTRATED; the illustrations comprising 5 cabinet photographs of T. Westwood, J. Crawhall, C. Pennell (2) and R. Bethune and 100 various engraved portraits and plates of views and fish, many colored by hand and including an unsigned watercolor drawing of a window in Winchester Cathedral; a few illustrations with captions in ink, a 2-page manuscript index at end.
