John Wayne - First Unfinished Model for the Monument was conceived in 1980 as the study for Jackson's monumental equestrian group of The Horseman in Beverly Hills, California. The present bronze is cast number 11 from an edition of 20 examples. An edition of 40 bronzes without the base was also cast. A certificate of authenticity from the artist, dated June 26, 1982, accompanies this lot.
