A HUANGHUALI THREE-TIERED FOOD BOX, TIHE
17th/18th Century
Of rectangular form, comprising a cover, a shallow upper tray above three other stacked trays, set on a base frame with the short sides fitted with central side posts, flanked by bracket-form upright scroll spandrels, joined at the top by a humpbacked handle, the cover held in place by a brass bar threaded through its short sides and the two side posts, the base frame, corners, handle joints and tray corners reinforced by plain brass mounts
