A GEORGE II SILVER TEA KETTLE, London, 1742, maker's mark of Thomas Whipham, slightly compressed spherical on rim foot, one side engraved with large armorials, with acanthus decorated swan's neck spout, the part raffia covered, partly reeded overhead scroll handle with stylized shell join, the partly raised side hinged cover topped by oval bone finial--height over handle 10¾in. (27.3cm.) high, gross weight 38oz.
