A GEORGE III SILVER HOT WATER JUG, Sheffield, 1775, maker's mark of Richard Morton & Co., vase shaped with long slightly spreading neck engraved with crest within shield enclosed by crossed foliate sprigs and tied mantling, raised on square base on four bun feet, with waisted stem, the lower body chased with acanthus, above with double tassle hung drapery swags, with acanthus band to the base and shoulder, with foliate joined scroll handle (lacking raffia), the hinged raised cover topped by acanthus bud finial--14¼in. (36.1cm.) high, 30oz.
