A GEORGE III COMPOSITE THREE PIECE SILVER TEA SERVICE, London, maker's mark of Hester Bateman, 1786, 1787, 1789, with a pair of bright cut sugar tongs, by the same, 1784-5, comprising straight sided oval teapot, navette form swing handled, sugar baset, and helmet form cream jug, each with bright cut engraving with applied beaded rims, the teapot with crest within shield form cartouche flanked by floral festoons and bordered by circles and paterae, with straight spout, wood loop handled, raised hinged cover topped by wood finial--6½in. (16.5cm.) high, the cream jug and sugar basket with slightly varying decoration--gross weight 25.5oz. (4)
