A VICTORIAN SILVER TEA KETTLE ON STAND AND LAMP, London, 1869, maker's mark of D. & C. Houle, the pear shaped kettle on rim foot, two sides with large C-scroll enclosed oval cartouche, one engraved with coat of arms, the other with two crests and motto, divided by broad panels of double flowerheads, foliage and scalework, above with foliate scroll band, the shoulder with similar band, with high raised decorated spout, the hinged flat topped domed cover with wavy applied foliate scroll rim topped by elaborate floral finial, the multi scroll, part foliate, overhead swing handle twice with female portrait bust, the twice chained rounded square base on four acanthus and rocaille supports, with foliate apron between, with plain burner--tea kettle on stand over handle 18in. (45.7cm.), 95.5oz.
