Of cartouche shape, the hinged cover moulded with a reclining pug with studded collar on a moulded rocaille ground reserved with figures standing on hills by a harbor, the sides and base similarly moulded and painted with cartouche-shaped reserves of ships and figures on the gold ground, the interior of the cover with a scantilly draped nymph holding a flaming torch in her right hand, a mask in her left (slight wear)--2 5/8in. (6.8cm.) wide
