The rectangular mosaic set into cover of a rectangular red jasper box, with gold mounts, indistinct maker's mark, probably that of Luigi Mascelli (active 1804-1825) and contemporary Rome hallmarks (damages to edge of box) ----- 2.11/32 x 3¼in. (6 x 8.3cm.)
