(14 3/8 x 9 1/2in.), eighteenth-century quarter calf gilt over marbled boards, rebacked with old backstrip laid down, corners worn, title defective at upper right hand corner and with two old patches on verso, progressively dampstained at upper right corner from front to center of book, a1 with patch to blank portion, lacks blank leaf ê6. FIRST EDITION, second issue with imprint date changed to 1568 on title, this copy without the two additional unsigned leaves "Quelques advertissements aux lecteurs" (present in some copies only), leaves x1, x3, X1, Bbb1 and Bbb2 are double leaves, architectural title-border, with diagrams, 205 woodcut illustrations, including 74 full-page and 7 double-page blocks.
