Lot Essay

This clock appears to commemorate the Quadruple Alliance of Great Britain, Austria, Russia, and Prussia, formed against Napoleon on November 20, 1815. The applied medals are all signed by Leopold Heuberger, an Austrian medallist working in the first half of the 19th century. Some of the medals for which he is best known are of Schwarzenberg and Blücher.
