A YOSHIOKA SCHOOL KOZUKA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1825), SIGNED YOSHIOKA TERUTSUGU WITH KAO

The plate has a gold nanako ground with a shakudo dragon and tiger applied in high relief. The frame is polished shakudo and is signed on the reverse--length 9.8cm., width 1.5cm., thickness 9.5mm.

Lot Essay

Yoshioka Terutsugu (1761-1849) was the seventh master of the Yoshioka family. He was adopted by Kiyotsugu, the sixth master, and received the title Inaba no Suke in 1802.
