Hata Nobuyoshi (b. 1807) studied under Iwama Nobuyoshi (1789-1842) and Iwama Masayoshi (1764-1837). He later adopted the Iwama name. He used many art names and was very prolific. The inscription claims that this is the best of fifty-four pieces that he has made.
