A PAIR OF SENTOKU ABUMI
EDO PERIOD, 17TH CENTURY
Inlaid with brass on the face and leading edge of the neck with an overall fretwork design centered by the jo-mon of the Abe family of Shirakawa. The flat sides of the neck are etched with designs of scattered sakura, the sides of the feet are etched with stylized scrolling foliage and the underside etched with trelliswork, unsigned.
