The rectangular chest set on a bracket-footed support fitted with a hinged cover and two doors opening to reveal two wooden drawers, inlaid on the two long sides in mother of pearl with deer, cranes, peach trees and other symbols of longevity within key fret borders, the end panel inlaid in mother of pearl with a stand of flowers and the door panels inlaid with stylized auspicious characters below bird panels, the lid inlaid with a large 'double happiness' character bordered by two bats, two cranes carrying peach or persimmon sprays and four clouds, all within a fretwork border, bronze mounts- 15 x 10 x 10 in.
