Of vase-shaped form, on spreading circular foot chased with flowers and trelliswork on a matted ground, the stem with applied palmette band, the body chased with flutes below, and above with fruits, scrolls and a vacant scroll and rocaille cartouche below a similiar foliate scroll and trelliswork band, with similiar applied palmette rim, the bifurcated acanthus scroll handles terminating in flowerheads, the domed cover chased with a band of acanthus below a beaded band and surmounted by a horse and jockey finial, marked on body and cover, the finial struck with maker's mark--16 3/4in. (42.6cm.) high
