This gouache painted in 1945-6 relates to a painting Crawford did for the Miller Lighting Company of the new lighting system at the Curtiss Wright aircraft plant in Buffalo, New York. Crawford was commissioned by the Miller Lighting Company to do a painting of this subject, and the artist created a number of versions. An oil of Nacelles Under Construction dated 1946 was sold in these rooms as lot 238 on May 23, 1990.
