Finely cast in low relief with various animals and mythical beasts, between a line of flowerheads at the waisted neck and a key pattern band at the foot, all reserved on a dense ground of finely inlaid silver wave pattern, with a pair of dragon-head loop handles at the sides, the base cast in relief with an inscription in seal script characters, with a smooth, even chocolate-brown patina; together with a contemporary bronze tripod stand cast with a two-character seal mark, qing wan, on the base--the censer 6 1/2 in.
