Lot Essay

It is rare to find an incense burner of this shape and palette bearing a Qianlong mark. The closest published example appears to be a famille verte, partially reticulated, domed censer in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, dated to the Kangxi period, illustrated in Masterworks of Chinese Porcelain in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, 1969, no. 40
