The small, rectangular box ornamented with a gold lacquer and aogai geometric pattern of interlocking floret panels and diamond grids bordered by foliate scroll, extensively repeated on the sides of the sheath cover, the sides matching the panels on the lid and bordered by black and aogai stripes, the interiors nashiji, bottom compartment with four short bracket feet- 3 1/4 x 2 1/2 x 2 1/8 in. (8.1 x 6.3 x 5.5 cm.)
