New York and London: Harper 1907. 8vo, original red cloth, spine slightly faded with two tiny stains, small stain on front cover, light news-clipping offset on front endpaper, half morocco slipcase. FIRST EDITION, FIRST STATE, frontispiece (dated 1906) and two illustrations, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by Clemens on the front paste-down endpaper: "To Dr. Halsey with the Kindest regards of the Author. BAL 3497; Johnson/Clemens, pp. 87-89. Christian Science is Twain's hilarious lambasting of Mary Baker Eddy and her pseudo-religion. Bookplate of Dr. Charles Aden Poindexter.
