"I have just finished reading yours and Annie's letters for the third [time]. I get so anxious to see you all. So take consolation by rereading your letters tell I think letter splended [sic] and that she must come home soon to help me work. We are getting the house well arranged hope to have everything done by the time you get here Write to me three days before you start what day you will leave Home so I will be sure to have time to meet you at San Antonio...." In a Spanish postscript, Garrett adds: "Mira como estoy Sudando del travago" [trabajo]; or, "look how I am sweating from the work."
