"Mr. Daruius Peck will wait on you in order to obtain Satisfaction for his expenditures in supporting a Number of Naval prisoners; his Account has been laid before the Governor & Council of Safety. They are of the Opinion, it ought to be brought into your Account as Commissary of Naval prisoners, or Agent, or whatever Capacity you Acted in when they were sent to Norwich Gaol, otherwise the United States will not be chargeable therfor which ought to be the Case.

"It is a pity an honest & needy man should be kept out of his just demand. I wish the matter to be put in train, to prevent further delay of payment & have no doubt you desire the same & will aid him as far as may be therein...."
