In 1925, Rössler went to Paris for a year to work in a photographic studio. After returning to Prague he moved back to Paris a year later, where he remained until 1935. While there he incorporated various tenets of Modernism into his work and produced a large body of abstract photographs, many of them views from high vantage points. He was fond of photographing from the Eiffel Tower.
