Fieret studied art, art history, poetry and glassmaking at various times from 1939 through the 1950s at the Royal Academy in The Hague. His work in the photographic medium began in 1959, peaked by the late 1960s, with an end to image-making in the 1970s. The condition of the prints are uniformly torn, creased and deliberately stressed.
