A KAMAKURABORI STYLE TSUBA
MUROMACHI PERIOD (CIRCA 1450)
The six-lobed iron plate is carved in low relief with a Shinto shrine and landscape design on one side and buildings with banners on the other. The surface and the edge have small iron bones. The hitsu-ana are original but have been slightly altered in shape--height 8.0cm., width 8.4cm., thickness 4.0mm.
