The only schools of the Muromachi period that mixed metals and styles were the Shoami of Kyoto and the Kaneie of Saga in Hizen, who also used iron on iron inlay and a variety of metals.

MUROMACHI PERIOD (CIRCA 1500)
The rather thick, oval iron plate has a delicately raised rim and a slightly rounded edge with iron bones. The web has a boar's-eye opening (inome bori) that is silver-lined. The upper right area has a sedge hat of iron on iron inlay with brass trim and brass tie cords. The lower right area is decorated with a large openwork design of three kiri leaves, the edges outlined in silver wire (much has been worn away), and tendrils in brass inlay on both sides (some of which is missing)--height 8.6cm., width 8.4cm., thickness 4.5mm.
