This late style of Bushu tsuba could have been made by the Akasaka or the Umetada schools, or by a follower of Tadatsugu (fl. 1775).

A BUSHU SCHOOL STYLE TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1800)
The oval iron plate tapers to the rim (goishigata). The web is pierced with a design of snowflakes and a cherry bloom, and has a large and small hole in the lower, central area that form udenukiana. The surface is polished and has a rather thin, brown patina--height 7.5cm., width 7.2cm., thickness 4.75mm.
