A KINAI SCHOOL TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1800), SIGNED ECHIZEN JU KINAI SAKU

The oval iron plate is pierced and carved as a design of orchids. The blooms are almost in the round and the plate is without a rim--height 7.7cm., width 7.4cm., thickness 5.5mm.

Lot Essay

This tsuba was made by the fourth generation member of the Kinai family school, who died in 1809.
