The thick copper plate has an uneven shape and resembles a curled, dry leaf (kawarigata mukade). The face is inlaid in high relief with a shakudo centipede with gold eyes and feelers at the top, and another centipede at the bottom. The reverse is decorated with a single centipede. The kogai hitsu-ana is plugged in shakudo with rain line surface carving. The plate of the tsuba is well-hammered in a rough stone finish--height 6.9cm., width 6.2cm., thickness at the center 4.0mm., at the edge 9.0mm.
