EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1800)

The oval petal-form iron plate is pierced and carved with a branch of chrysanthemum, the bloom is in openwork design and the leaves have fine line carving--height 7.8cm., width 7.1cm., thickness 5.5mm.

This is probably the work of an independent artist or samurai who made tsuba as a hobby in the late Edo period.
