A KAGA SCHOOL INLAY TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1700)

The round, polished, shakudo plate is inlaid in two tones of sheet gold with a bamboo plant. The reverse is decorated with five bamboo leaves and stem, a design that continues from the face, and is similarly executed in two tones of gold--height 7.3cm., width 7.1cm., thickness 4.5mm.
