A GOTO STYLE TSUBA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1700)

The shakudo plate is of squared rounded-corner four-lobed shape (mokko). The raised rim is decorated in high relief design of spring flowers and grasses. The sunken web is designed with shakudo and gold insects in relief. The design is repeated on the reverse--height 7.9cm., width 7.3cm., thickness 4.0mm.
