A KATSURA SCHOOL FUCHI KASHIRA
EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1750), SIGNED NAGAYASU (EIHO) WITH KAO

Each piece is of shibuichi plate. They are carved in low relief (shishiaibori) with a design of the father of Momotaro on the fuchi and Fukurokuju on the kashira, each with gold accents--length of fuchi 3.8cm., height 1.1cm.; length of kashira 3.3cm., height 0.7cm.

Lot Essay

Katsura Nagayasu (Eiho d. 1840), was a student of Katsura Eiju (fl. 1775).
