Configuration (sugata): of flat, wedge section (hira-zukuri) with tri-bevelled back (mitsu-mune); length (nagasa): 8 sun, 8 bu (26.8cm.); carving (horimono): inside (ura): bonji; outside (omote): kurikara above bonji.
Forging pattern (jihada): fine wood grain (itame).
Tempering pattern (hamon): small, irregular, slanted invections (saka-ko-gonome) in nioi and ko-nie.
Point (boshi): small rounded (ko-maru) with little kaeri
Tang (nakago). Shape (keitai): kimono sleeve (furisode), slightly corroded, suriage and with a dry, brown patina; file marks (yasurime): slanted (sujikai); end (nakagojiri): rounded kiri-jiri; holes (mekugi-ana): three; signature (katanamei): Bizen (no) Kuni Osafune--
