Configuration (sugata): ken yari; length (nagasa): 2 shaku, 0 sun, 2 bu (61.2cm.)
Forging pattern (jihada): regular and straight wood grains (itame masame).
Tempering pattern (hamon): wide suguba in nioi with some ko-nie.
Point (boshi): medium brush tip (hakikake).
Tang (nakago). Shape (keitai): slender, of square section, 60.5cm.; file marks (yasurime): hatched (higaki); end (nakagojiri): rounded (kuri-jiri); holes (mekugi-ana): two (one being a shinobi-ana, a secondary hole for additional security); signature (mei): Esshu Tsuruga (no) ju Fujiwara Shimofusa (no) Kami Muneyoshi.
