Of oval form, with molded rims, the hinged tortoiseshell cover set with bands of silver strapwork, acanthus, dolphins and shells within fishscale panels, joined by acanthus scrolls enclosing a female mask, the the cover opening to reveal a pique scene of foliage and a bumblebee in a landscape set in the tortoiseshell base, apparently unmarked--3 1/4in. (8.2cm.) long
