Of oblong form, the sides, base and cover applied with vari-colored foliate scroll borders, enclosing on the base a panel of stylized flowers amid basketweave trelliswork, the cover later set with an oval miniature of Napoleon signed Isabey and dated 1815 and enclosed by a paste cartouche, the flange engraved Aug. Leftwich 1846, marked on interior and cover, the flange struck with French control mark for 1819-1838-- 3 1/2in. (8.5cm.) long
