A Sutdent of José Jara, who was in turn a disciple of Jose Salome Pina, Santiago Rebull and Jose Maria Velasco. He was active in the movement "Pintura Libre" and taught painting alongside Alfredo Ramos Martinez at the Escuela de Churubusco.
The magnifiscent quality of his works can be seen in the collection of the Museo Regional de Guadalajara, the Museo Nacional de Arte de La Ciudad de Mexico, and at the National Library in Washington, D.C. His work was also included in the important show Imagen de Mexico which opened in Frankfurt in 1987.
This beautiful Orquideas" painting, from 1946, makes us think of the lively backgrounds of Frida Kahlo, and thematically about the works of Geogia O'Keefe. The flowers with their "dangerous" appearence are highlighted in the foreground among the thick greenery. Towards the right side of the canvas, the painter slyly allows the viewer to get a glimpse of a neighboring landscape.
