AN UNUSUAL IRON-RED DECORATED COPPER-RED AND UNDERGLAZE BLUE BOWL
KANGXI MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD
With deep rounded sides, the interior with a medallion decorated with the sun and trailing clouds amidst a setting of jagged rocks rising from a sea of cresting waves, within a double line border repeated at the rim, all in copper-red and underglaze blue under a pale celadon glaze, the exterior with five phoenix roundels in shaded iron-red, with iron-red and green enameled bands above the foot, minute rim chip--6 1/8 in. (15.6cm.) diam.
