A DANISH SILVER MANTEL CLOCK
DESIGNED BY JOHAN ROHDE IN 1919; MADE BY GEORG JENSEN SILVERSMITHY, 1919-1923

The case of octagonal form, the face engraved with arabic numerals and with openwork oval and scroll hands, the face and hinged glass-set cover applied with a beaded border, surmounted by an openwork foliate finial, supported by two massive scrolls chased with overlapping leaves and from which issue openwork foliate scrolls, above a square stepped spreading base chased with a band of foliage and surmounted by a bud finial, raised on eight scroll feet supported by a similar stepped pedestal above a square slate base, marked 333 and with English import marks for 1923--12 3/4in. (32.3cm.) high
