First text-page (A2r) with three-quarter floral and leafy border with single decorative shield at top and bottom (top shield slightly chipped) illuminated in gold and colors, five-line opening initial H in gold on a blue ground and three-line initial N in gold on a red ground, two-line blue and red Lombard initials supplied elsewhere. Brown morocco, covers with double gilt border of interlacing stems terminating at corners in three small inlaid green morocco gilt leaves, spine in six gilt-panelled compartments, two gilt-lettered, turn-ins with double gilt fillet, fore-edges lettered in contemporary ink ("Iustino"), bound by Douglas Cockerell, his monogram dated 1901 gilt-stamped on lower turn-in; joints and extremities rubbed, inner hinges broken, a few marginal mostly filled wormholes to first and last ten leaves, six leaves with discreet marginal repairs, first text leaf slightly creased, slight marginal foxing, occasional faint dampstaining to fore-margins, slight showthrough of illuminated border and a few initials.
