KIPLING, RUDYARD. Typed letter signed ("Rudyard Kipling") to Earl M. Benson, a teacher at the English High School in Boston, Bateman's, Burwash, Sussex, 20 February 1922, one page, 4to, on his printed stationery, slight browning to edges, thanking Benson for his letter, informing him that to avoid the expense¢of mailing a copy of the English edition, he has instructed his American publishers to send Benson a copy of Captains Courageous, and enclosing an autograph to insert in it. [With:] Printed document accomplished in manuscript, a deed of sale for one-eighth share of the schooner "We're Here", signed Frederick W. Choate and George Merrill, [Gloucester, Mass.] 8 January 1862, 3 pages, folio, on pale blue paper, printed and manuscript docket on verso of second leaf, minor fold breaks, two wood-engraved vignettes. The "We're Here" was the Gloucester schooner that figured in Kipling's Captains Courageous.
