A BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN JAR
CHOSON PERIOD (FIRST HALF 18TH CENTURY)

Of gourd form, the sides separated into four lobes and resting on a straight foot with recessed base, the short neck only slightly everted, painted on each of the four lobes in underglaze blue above a continuous single line with a stand of bamboo, peach and dragonfly, autumn grasses and a dragonfly and flowering plum, the body of the jar covered by a glossy white glaze- 6 1/8 in. (15.4 cm.) high

A blue and white vase of the 'autumn grasses' type, of the same date, was sold in these rooms October 24, 1991, lot 901
