Further details
This obverse was the only die signed by Euth(ymos). It is distinguished not only for its artistic balance and beauty but also as a chronological indicator. The various allusions to seafaring and victory here lead to the suggestion that the die celebrates the defeat of the Athenian expedition against Syracuse in 413/12 BC.
