The human skull-shaped iron bowl decorated with black lacquer stone ground, the gold lacquer fukigaeshi and five stage blue laced shikoro, elaborately mounted with maedate and wakidate representing a sake cup, and a pair of chopsticks which open to contain holy water, and a pair of sickles

These unusual maedate and wakidate represent the utensils for the production and consumption of food and drink. The wearer hoped to ensure that the gods would grant him the good fortune to maintain daily life.
